Lake Claire is devoid of any mentionable body of water, and instead gets its name from its main intersection: Lakeshore and Claire drive. Lake Claire is a small community of only 1,200 homes.

History
Much of Lake Claire was sold as empty lots in the early 1900’s, giving the city a very diverse architectural style. Lake Claire’s first family, the Gordons, built an estate on what is now the Horizons School. They lived there from 1871 to 1931.
What’s Unique About the Area
Lake Claire is almost entirely residential. There is no center of commerce or nightlife, only a few grocery and convenience stores. This is not an issue for residents, because Lake Claire is situated in between Candler Park, Kirkwood, Decatur, and Druid Hills. Everything a resident could want or need from Atlanta is a mere mile or so away.
Architecture
Because the plots of land were originally sold individually and building was left to the owners, there is a variety of architectural style in Lake Claire. This variety includes Victorian homes, Craftsman bungalows, cottages, and homes with modern designs. While they only have one official park, there are plenty of unofficial green spaces that the residents of Lake Claire take care to maintain.
